{"id":123,"date":"2009-07-29T01:55:14","date_gmt":"2009-07-29T06:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/?p=123"},"modified":"2009-07-29T01:55:14","modified_gmt":"2009-07-29T06:55:14","slug":"21st-stop-san-diego-california-the-zoo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/21st-stop-san-diego-california-the-zoo\/","title":{"rendered":"21st stop &#8211; San Diego, California &#8211; the ZOO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We took a drive to San Diego today to visit the San Diego zoo.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing we saw was a mess of flamingos.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-124\" title=\"blog_sdzoo1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/blog_sdzoo1.JPG\" alt=\"blog_sdzoo1\" width=\"150\" height=\"113\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sam &#8211; There is an app for that!<br \/>\nBen &#8211; I love pink &#8211; is that a bad thing?<\/p>\n<p>Next &#8211; we saw bears and they were really funny.<br \/>\nSam &#8211; I am a sloth bear and I am swinging my head like a baseball bat.<br \/>\nBen &#8211; Sloths are the 2nd most dangerous animal on the planet.\u00a0 Only the porcupine is more dangerous.\u00a0 My daddy said that hundreds of people a year are killed by sloths and porcupines.<\/p>\n<p>After that, we discovered that there was a bus you could ride around the zoo.\u00a0 We hopped on and went for a ride.<br \/>\nSam &#8211; To the Polar Rim we went &#8211; home of the mighty polar bear!<br \/>\nBen &#8211; I love bears!\u00a0 My paw-paw is a bear.<\/p>\n<p>Hippos and Pandas were next!\u00a0 The hippo tank was awesome &#8211; the hippo was laying in the tank right up against the clear glass.\u00a0 Eeepo-nonymous!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-125\" title=\"blog_sdzoo2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/blog_sdzoo2.JPG\" alt=\"blog_sdzoo2\" width=\"150\" height=\"113\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The pandas were a bit sleepy, but we did see them up close.<\/p>\n<p>Food followed!<br \/>\nSam &#8211; I hate tacos with tomatoes!\u00a0 Bring on the Tex-mex!<br \/>\nBen &#8211; I love hot stuff!\u00a0 I like my food hot and the weather even hotter!\u00a0 I love Texas!<\/p>\n<p>Elephant Odyssey followed and we received a brief history of the California coast and animal life.<br \/>\nSam &#8211; How did I get that in that picture twice?<br \/>\nBen &#8211; Why do I have no face?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-126\" title=\"blog_sdzoo3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/blog_sdzoo3-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"blog_sdzoo3\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We rode the sky-tram about 300 hundred times and then went to see some snakes.<br \/>\nWe figured Aunt Shirley would really like the yellow snake.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-127\" title=\"blog_sdzoo4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/blog_sdzoo4.JPG\" alt=\"blog_sdzoo4\" width=\"150\" height=\"113\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sam &#8211; That thing is massive.<br \/>\nBen &#8211; I really like giant snakes!\u00a0 I want to hug him and call him george!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-128\" title=\"blog_sdzoo5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/blog_sdzoo5.JPG\" alt=\"blog_sdzoo5\" width=\"150\" height=\"113\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sam &#8211; How did I get a panda bear?<br \/>\nBen &#8211; How did I get a woolly mammoth?<br \/>\nSam &#8211; When did my mama eat the watermelon?<\/p>\n<p>Adios,<br \/>\nThe A-team!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We took a drive to San Diego today to visit the San Diego zoo.
