{"id":30,"date":"2009-07-12T11:05:08","date_gmt":"2009-07-12T16:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/?p=30"},"modified":"2009-07-12T11:05:08","modified_gmt":"2009-07-12T16:05:08","slug":"8th-stop-the-grand-canyon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/8th-stop-the-grand-canyon\/","title":{"rendered":"8th stop &#8211; The GRAND Canyon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We made it!<br \/>\nWe arrived at the Grand Canyon and saw a herd of Buffalo as we were driving in.<\/p>\n<p>We stopped off and made a picnic at the East Rim.<br \/>\nIt is free to camp anywhere on the East Rim &#8211; this is not an advertised thing!<br \/>\nPark road 611 &#8211; 4 miles before the Grand Canyon National Park entrance.<br \/>\nWe camped here about 11 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>See the pic of the boys &#8211; view from the East Rim.<br \/>\nSam &#8211; Man what happened to those trees.<br \/>\nBen &#8211; We really worked that big log over and we did not fall in the Canyon behind us, but we almost did.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-31 alignnone\" title=\"boys_east_rim\" src=\"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/boys_east_rim-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"boys_east_rim\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We are staying at the North Rim Camp Ground!<br \/>\nIt was about 50 for a low and will reach 85 or so for a high.<br \/>\nWe are hiking down into the Canyon today &#8211; about a mile.<\/p>\n<p>This place is awesome!<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/grca\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We made it!
