Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail in Oahu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail in Oahu<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The condo our parents rented in Oahu was awesome.\u00a0 We will post information about the VRBO experience and about the condo we used in the Waikiki Lanais in a separate post.\u00a0 The owner, Sana, was awesome and really made our stay great.<\/p>\n<p>Our parents asked about hikes and Sana suggested the Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail.<\/p>\n<p>We are a hiking lot with 5 seasoned hikers and backpackers so off we went.\u00a0 The youngest brother in our group of 3 is Big Willie or the Wilverine as he likes to call himself.\u00a0 We had to do a trail of the same name.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a <a from Google.\u00a0 You will take Laukahi Street from H1 \/ 72 going east from Waikiki or Honolulu.\u00a0 It is easy to find and very near Diamond Head.\u00a0 You will drive for what seems like days and finally reach a guard station.\u00a0 The trail head is located in an upscale gated neighborhood.\u00a0 We felt very comfortable leaving our car.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/home\/apluscom\/roadtrippingforkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/IMG_5978.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The trail starts off pretty calm and for about the first 2 miles, it is scenic and calm.<\/p>\n<p><a some amazingly large trees on the trail.<\/p>\n<p><a \/>\nWilverine is only 5 and he hiked the whole thing, while persistently chattering about the geneology &amp; hierarchy of Bionnicles. took up easily 4 hours.<br \/>\nWe took a few breaks, but this hike takes a while.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Was it worth it?\u00a0 For sure.<\/strong><br \/>\nThis was our top hike in Oahu.<br \/>\nWe hiked Diamond Head, Koko Head, Makapu&#8217;u Lighthouse, and the Manana Trail to the Waimano Falls\/Pools.<br \/>\nIf you are in Oahu, make time for the Wiliwilinui
